We know camel leather might sound a little unusual at first and perhaps even a touch daunting. But don’t worry, caring for it is just as simple as looking after any other natural leather. We chose camel leather because it has a unique balance: while it’s soft and flexible to the touch, it’s also denser than cow leather. That extra density makes it incredibly resilient, it’s traditionally valued for its natural toughness, even offering protection from thorny terrain and other challenges you might meet under the desert sun.
With just a little care, your camel leather shoes will stay supple, strong, and ready for adventures for years to come:
Dusting: Use a soft brush or cloth to gently remove surface dust and dirt. A quick once-over now and then will keep them looking fresh.
Cleaning: For heavier dirt, wipe with a slightly damp cloth. If you need to tackle stains, a small amount of mild detergent should do the trick.
Spills: Accidents happen, if you spill something, blot straight away with a clean, dry cloth to absorb moisture. Avoid rubbing, as this can push liquid deeper into the leather.
Conditioning: Every few months, treat your shoes with a good quality leather conditioner. This nourishes the fibres, helping prevent dryness and cracking, and keeps the leather supple.
Protection: For added peace of mind, especially in wetter climates, use a water-repellent spray that’s designed specifically for leather. This gives an extra barrier against moisture without affecting breathability.
Camel leather has supported humans across deserts and landscapes for centuries, it’s strong, enduring, and made for a life lived closer to nature. With mindful care, your shoes will walk with you through many journeys, only getting better with time.
