Here are some ways to stop your shoes from smelling:
- Baking soda- Sprinkle baking soda into your shoes and leave it overnight. You can also mix baking soda with baking powder and cornflour, or add a few drops of essential oil.
- White Vinegar- Mix equal parts white vinegar and water in a spray bottle, spritz the inside of your shoes, and let them dry. Vinegar can neutralize odours and kill bacteria. However, using vinegar too often can damage the material of your shoes.
- Salt- Pour salt into your shoes and let it sit for about 24 hours. Salt absorbs moisture and has antibacterial properties.
- Rubbing alcohol- Rubbing alcohol can deodorize and disinfect your shoes.
- Cloves- Tie a few cloves in a handkerchief and put them in each shoe for a few hours
- Dry your shoes properly- Dry your shoes as soon as they get wet. You can dry them in front of a radiator, but don't put them directly on the radiator. You can also use a dehumidifier to help speed up drying time.
