If you’re familiar with Vivobarefoot, you’ll know we’re fully committed to responsible practices in all aspects of our business, that includes being transparent with our customers. We recognise this is a really important issue for our community.
Although we can confirm that we know all the main materials used in our Vegan* footwear range are synthetic and entirely free from animal-derived materials, it has unfortunately come to our attention from recent discussions with partners across our value chain, that currently we cannot definitively confirm the same in respect of the small components, such as the adhesives and dyes used in processing. Whilst we know the majority of the materials and components in the Vegan* range are vegan, until we have 100% visibility of all processes, we can’t guarantee it meets vegan best practice. We strive to be as open and transparent as possible across everything we do, which is why we’ve added the disclaimer to the Vegan* section of our website. Our intention was never to mislead customers about our products.
We’re working really hard behind the scenes with our value chain partners to get the information we need, so that we can soon provide 100% assurance that our Vegan* products meet best practice.
