As a proud B-Corp certified business, one of our key goals is transparency in the materials and processes used to make our shoes and products. On each product page, you’ll find a section called Materials and Transparency, which provides a breakdown of the materials used.
Our commitment is to ensure full transparency in sourcing and using materials to create openness and trust around our products. If you have specific concerns, such as allergies, feel free to contact our customer service team for assistance.
We design all our products with the ambition of achieving full circularity, focusing on two core material pillars: Supernatural and Polycircular.
Supernatural: From Nature, to Be Returned to Nature
Styles within the Supernatural pillar are on a journey to being made from 100% natural or bio-based materials that can be industrially composted. Examples include:
- The Gobi Premium Sneaker, made from 98% natural materials (leather and canvas).
- A partnership with Balena to use their fully compostable biopolymer in the VivoBiome range.
- Collaborations with NFW on a fully natural rubber outsole for barefoot shoes.
We’re excited to continue refining designs like our leather hiking boots by removing plastic waterproof membranes and exploring new ways to make them more environmentally friendly. Upcoming launches, such as a more natural version of the Primus Lite Knit in 2025, will showcase these advancements.
Polycircular: New Vivos Entirely Out of Old Vivos
The Polycircular pillar focuses on creating durable footwear from recycled materials that can be easily separated and recycled at the end of their life. Our goal is to produce shoes where:
- The upper is made from 100% polyester that can be recycled along with the outsole.
- The outsole is crafted from recycled synthetic rubber, which is more sustainable than virgin synthetic rubber. Natural rubber is used in our Supernatural styles.
We’re making significant progress towards increasing the percentage of recycled polyester content in styles like the Primus 3.5. With the help of our chemical recycling partner Circ, we’re determined to find effective end-of-life recycling solutions for our footwear.
